Accompanying familymember

Reuniting with one's family is often one of the primary goals of many people seeking to establish themselves in a new country. In Denmark, accompanying family members have the right to apply for a residence permit to stay with their loved ones in the country. These family members may include spouses, cohabitants, children under the age of 18 and in certain cases also other family members.

We handle the process for you to obtain a residence permit as an accompanying family member in Denmark, as this involves several steps and requires documentation of family relationships as well as fulfillment of certain conditions and requirements set by the Danish immigration authorities.

Passport:

Copy of all pages of your passport, incl. all blank pages as well as the front and back of the passport.

Family relationship (for accompanying family members):

Spouses and cohabitants: copy of marriage certificate and any documents confirming cohabitation.
Children: copy of birth certificate.
Any documentation documenting the family relationship, as required.

Research (only for accompanying persons who have a permit as a guest researcher, according to the Start Up Denmark scheme, on special individual qualifications or with an establishment card):

This may include bank statements, payslips, employment contracts or other documents showing the applicant's financial situation.

It is important to ensure that all documents are correct, complete and translated into Danish or English.
